Welcome to Edmée, new HFSP Postdoc

We are glad to welcome Edmée ROYEN as a new Photosymbiosis team member! Edmée is starting a 3-years Post Doc and will be fully dedicated to the “1+1=1” project, funded by Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP).

A few words from Edmée:

“Since my Bachelor and Master degrees at the University of Liège, I have been fascinated by symbioses and organelle evolution. My PhD in the Lab of genetics and physiology of Microalgae allowed me to explore both: I focused on the photosynthesis of Symbiodinium microadriaticum within the frame of a symbiosis with the jellyfish Cassiopea, and in the context of peridinin plastid loss. Now, I am excited to be joining the LPVC Photosymbiosis team to take part in the project “1+1=1” of the Human Frontiers Science Program. During this 3-years postdoc, I will be investigating the fundamental determinants of photosymbiosis using the model ciliate Paramecium.”

We wish her all the best and success!
